31st Trading Week (29th – 31st) of July, 2024 trade journal)

My reason for sharing my trade journal is to encourage traders to also keep one for two major reasons:

1. Track your weekly trading performance.
2. Build a better psychology, which will sharpen your trading intuition

Both can only be done when you keep a comprehensive journal, and review it every week.

MONDAY 29/07/2024

GBP/USD (3:45 pm)

Analysis: This is one of the few times I took a high risk trade with a low returns, but high probability, but it did not end well

GBP/USD Update (4 pm)

Closed manually with -19 pips

TUESDAY 30/07/2024

NZD/USD (3:15 am)

Analysis: A break below key support zone encouraged the sell

NZD/USD Update (3:48 am)

SL hit (-11 pips)

USD/CAD (9.00 am)

Analysis: Bounce on key support zone

USD/CAD Update (9.30pm)

SL hit (-11 pips)

Analysis: Break of structure

Manually closed with +4 pips

WEDNESDAY 31/07/2024

EUR/JPY (8.45 pm)

Analysis: A break below key support zone

EUR/JPY Update (6.15 am)

This trade would have been a huge win for me, but I slept off during the Asian session and when I woke up, I saw price was about  10 pips away from my TP before a reversal occurred, so I closed at breakeven.

Trade activity summary for the week

In Conclusion:

I got very greedy on the last few days of July and lost – 2.7% of my capital.

Also I missed out on closing my EJ with decent profits because the previous night, I did not go to bed early due to a space I attended on X. This shifted my bed time from 8-9 pm to almost 11.45 pm. This ruined my EJ trade

I closed the month of July with -0.5%, not necessarily due to bad market conditions, but due to my negligence, and it all happened in the last few days of July
