46th Trading Week (13th – 17th of November, 2023 trade journal)

My reason for sharing my trade journal is to encourage traders to also keep one for two major reasons:

  1. Track your weekly trading performance.
  2. Build a better psychology, which will sharpen your trading intuition

Both can only be done when you keep a comprehensive journal, and review it every week.

MONDAY 13/11/2023

EUR/AUD (8 am)

Analysis: Our Weekly market analysis inspired the sell.

EUR/AUD update (4.20 pm)

Analysis: I closed the trade manually with +35 pips bagged. My reason for taking this trade was to make a few pips. I did not want to hold it longer than I should since there is CPI news on Tuesday

WEDNESDAY 15/11/2023

EUR/AUD (8.30 am)

Analysis: After CPI did it’s thing, I am back on this setup to make a few pips and get out before Thursday’s unemployment rate news on AUD

EUR/AUD update (1.30 pm)

Analysis: I locked +45 pips with my trailing SL. Price also closed at +45 pips

THURSDAY 16/11/2023

GBP/CHF (11 am)

Analysis: Thursday market analysis inspired the buy

GBP/CHF Update (11 am)

Analysis: I manually closed the trade with +5 pips due to lack of liquidity

Trade activity summary for the week

DATE PAIRS BUY/SELL PIPS MADE/LOST
MON (13/11/2023) EUR/AUD SELL  + 35 pips
WED (15/11/2023) EUR/AUD SELL  + 45 pips
THUS (06/11/2023) GBP/CHF SELL  + 5 pips
TOTAL  + 85 pips

In conclusion:

This week was riddled with high-impact news, and C setups, which I did not want to indulge.

This week, I am grateful that I was perfectly able to time all my trade exits. That was my edge this week. I closed with +0.8% to 1.2% profits across my accounts, and I made one silly mistake.

I forgot to close the GBP/CHF trade on one of my trading account, so all my labour for the week was in vein. The SL closed the trade at breakeven (for the week). So it’s as good as I never traded the account this week (so sad)

It was a tough week to trade in. I would rate my trading performance 95% simply because my trade executions were top-notch

How did your trading week go?
